Your Jewelry Holiday Gift Guide is Here!

Another holiday season is upon us and we find ourselves asking yet again, what do I get?

I don't know about you but I love getting and wearing different things. Why would you want to look like everyone else anyway. That is why I am a huge fan of smaller shops and handcrafted pieces.

At the House of Zada, each piece is handcrafted just for you or your loved once you place your order and comes ready to be gifted in a gift box.

To make this stressful time of the year a bit easier for you, here's your ultimate guide for what to get each fashionista on your list. You're welcome :)

New Creation - Pendant Obsession

At the House of Zada, I believe that pendant necklaces are timeless pieces and are always in style.  This season though, they are really in style.  Everyone loved my African jade pendant so much that it sold out. The good news is that I added 2 new colors for all the pendant necklace lovers. One is a lapis blue gemstone pendant with a deep blue/purplish tint. The second is of course turquoise with brownish veins for the perfect embellishment. No matter which one you choose, be sure that it will bring lots of compliments and plenty of feel good vibes. Do you love pendant pieces as much as I do?

New Creation - A Lapis Lazuli Affair

As most of you know, my biggest inspiration for my jewelry pieces come from my Egyptian heritage. Whether it is the color or style of the piece, my cultural background plays a huge role. This new Lapis Lazuli gemstone pendant necklace is no different. The combination of blue and gold is a mainstay and timeless combination for any jewelry lover's wardrobe. This handmade creation is perfect to pair with your favorite outfit regardless of the season or year for that matter. This is one of my favorites because it really embraces the style of, what we can call my ancestors, ancient Egyptians.  Do you see yourself wearing such a bold piece?

Fall/Winter 2014/15 Jewelry Trends

We all agree Fall arrived a bit too soon and Winter right around the corner, get ready to wear all your favorite accessories to spice up that outfit under our big and puffy coats. This year's trends will help you stand out from the crowd to say the least. All things chunky and bold are a must for this season. Whether it is a necklace, a SINGLE earring (that's right, one sided), so many bangles that you barely see your arms or your favorite colored sunglasses, don't be scared to let your accessories do all the talking. How do you feel about these trends? Do you see yourself taking a risk and trying any of these show stopping looks?

My Latest Creation - Amethyst and Bronze Glass Pendant Necklace

As I was out handpicking my beads in New York, I came across these glass beads. So unique and different, something I have never seen. Each bead has a coppery/bronze outline with a double sided triangle center filled with an amethyst color. It adds such a unique touch to any outfit you want to wear. I decided to create a pendant necklace with these beads and as I took my new piece out for a test drive last week, it was such a hit and received many compliments. Now, reassured of the design and look, it is here for you to own while supplies last.

Affordable Looks for the Everyday Fashionista - Weekend Edition

Another weekend is upon us ladies, but that doesn't mean we have to opt for the sweats to feel comfortable. Try an outfit like this one to give you that relaxed and easy look yet effortless chic in the same time. I always say that jewelry can make an outfit go from boring to chic and even glamorous and this is exactly how. Everyone owns a white tee and some skinny denim at this point (if not, go get one!). Add a chunky chained pendant necklace like this African jade handmade piece from my line along with some skinny bangles and sandals to complete your look...Your welcome.

New Handmade Creation: Red Calcite Natural Gemstone Statement Necklace

I was trying a new technique for this week's creation only to realize I don't have all the necessary materials. Very disappointing. The good news is that I just got these stones in and I just wanted to create a piece that is bold yet versatile enough to wear all year round. Voila! This new natural red calcite gemstone necklace is very heavy in statement making with 3 large gemstones hanging from these lightweight gold chains to give off that glam factor. What do you think? Do you see yourself wearing this?

My First Collage!

Because I am dedicated to mastering the handmade jewelry craft, I recently enrolled in a jewelry design course to help me better my current skills and learn new ones of course. One of my first projects was to create an inspirational portfolio that includes anything from texture to colors etc. I am very happy and proud to share my first collage EVER which include all things that inspire me including heritage, colors and favorite clothing brand. How do you like it?

How Do I preserve My Jewelry?

One of the most common questions I get asked is how to care and preserve fashion jewelry.  Whether it is fashion jewelry or pure gold, jewelry care follows many of the same rules. For that same reason, I created an entire page on my site with plenty of helpful tips.  You can find all the answers you need and more under the 'Jewelry Care' tab on my homepage or click here.  So next time you or a friend have a question or two, simply refer them to House of Zada.

Affordable Looks for the Everyday Fashionista

It is time for another affordable look for this Spring/Summer. I am a firm believer that being in style does not have to be costly. Here's a fun Summer look for you to try with this flared A-line skirt from H&M. White is the simplest way to pair it with this off the shoulder top from Asos. You can also combine it with black, ivory or printed top (loose or tight) if you please. Add this chunky colorblocked statement fuschia/navy necklace to help highlight that neckline and a simple gold bangle for the perfect finishing touch.
